Creation of a Rope
Create a new document.
Create a document with the width 800x600, Create a new layer and choose filter>sketch>halftone pattern.
Size =4 (use higher for a higher res image)
Push the contrast pretty high, the image looks like the one shown here.
If required, add some noise to the page from Filter>Noise>Add Noise and rotate it with Ctrl+T(Free Transform)
Make a selection with marquee tool as shown here
Press Ctrl+J to paste the selection in to the new layer and see that the pasted object is to the center of the page. Now go to Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates to get the rope structure. |  |
Duplicate the layer in to four by changing the positions, vertically for each of them and apply the layer style "dropshadow" with minimum opaccity, check the output from this image |
